- Alternative techniques for dealing with the problems created by these conditions.
On the sole, between the heel and the base of the fingers, a dense bundle of connective tissue fibers creates a natural sole beneath the skin. This is the plantar denervation, which has enough elasticity, is very strong, and in some parts, its thickness reaches half a centimeter. Plantar fasciitis is a painful inflammatory condition that is ranked in the overdose syndromes. Compared to men, women are more likely to experience plantar fasciitis. It usually tires people between the age of 40 and 60 years.
In many cases, we see, via a radiological examination, a bone growth at the bottom of the heel, the so-called acanthus (in radiograph it appears as a pointed thorn). The acanthus is an osteophyte, meaning a scar tissue formation in which salts are deposited. These calcifications are gradually ossified. It may be the result of the chronic inflammation of the plantar fasciitis or vice versa, meaning the acanthus causes plantar fasciitis in the area (bi-directional situation).
